What Is Spiritual Direction?
In spiritual direction, two or more seekers enter a sacred space to dream, explore, and discern a path toward personal wholeness and deeper intimacy with the Divine. — John Mabry
Spiritual Direction is an ongoing, confidential conversation where you are invited to speak about anything—your work, play, relationships, joys, struggles, doubts, and dreams. No matter the topic, the conversation gently returns to one central question: How is the Divine calling you into deeper and deeper intimacy?
From the mundane to the extraordinary, we explore:
-
Where and how you notice the sacred moving, forming, guiding, and manifesting in your life
-
The ways you may be resisting your own sacred essence
-
The gifts and invitations hidden in your struggles and triumphs
-
Where you may be out of integrity with your divine wisdom—and how to return to it
-
The fears that hold you back and the healing the sacred is inviting you toward
Discernment is at the heart of spiritual direction. Together, we listen for the voice of your sacred essence, asking what it is calling you toward and how you can live in deeper alignment with it. As your spiritual director, I partner with you in growing your capacity to recognize and respond to the movement of the sacred in your everyday life.
Whether you follow a faith tradition or walk your own way, spiritual direction offers a steady, trustworthy space to reflect, grow, and live more deeply connected to your divine wisdom.
Come experience what it’s like to explore your life with a compassionate guide and a listening heart.
Who is This For?
Spiritual direction is for anyone who senses there is more to life — more depth, more meaning, more of the sacred to be discovered — and wants a trusted companion on the journey.
-
You want to deepen your connection with the Divine, however you name or understand it.
-
You’re navigating change, challenge, or uncertainty and long for a grounded spiritual anchor.
-
You sense a call — or a quiet nudge — toward growth, healing, or transformation.
-
You’re exploring your beliefs and values, whether within a tradition or beyond it.
-
You feel spiritually restless or dry and want to rekindle a sense of wonder and intimacy.
-
You want a safe space to speak freely about your inner life — from daily struggles to profound insights.
“Your heart knows the way. Run in that direction.”— Rumi
Come as you are. Leave with greater clarity, compassion, and connection.

Spiritual direction is an intimate unfolding — and the right companion matters. Sometimes we simply know when a connection feels right. The first step with me is a free, gentle conversation where we can listen together for that sense of ease and alignment.
Until we have a chance to meet in person, here’s a little about the heart I bring to this work.
I have always loved listening for the truth at the heart of another’s story. People often describe my presence as warm, safe, and compassionate — while also direct and truthful. I see myself as an intelligent mirror: reflecting back the essence, wisdom, and divine spark already within you.
I am called to listen for and manifest divine truth and love in the world. I believe each of us carries a precious piece of divine essence, and when we bring it forward, we participate in the healing and transformation of the world itself. I am deeply nourished by those moments when someone awakens to their own beauty, gifts, and power — the miracle of who they are.
My Path of Preparation
I am currently completing my training in Spiritual Direction and Interfaith Chaplaincy at the Chaplaincy Institute, where I will be ordained in 2027. I also have specialized training in the Tree of Life intitiations. I hold a Master of Science in Restorative Practices and bring over 15 years of experience working one-on-one with clients in the fields of Nonviolent Communication and Restorative Practices — both of which I see as spiritual practices disguised as communication tools.
My life experience has been just as formative: raising three children, navigating times of both poverty and abundance, living in diverse communities around the world, and accompanying people through grief, illness, dying — as well as through births, celebrations, and desired life changes. I believe our culture often lacks space not only for grief, but also for celebrating joy and success. In my sessions, I hold both: helping others expand their ability to navigate loss and to recognize and embrace the sacredness of celebration.
My Approach
In our sessions, I weave silence, breath, and guided meditation as grounding practices. When possible, I love to incorporate movement and nature, our bodies and the earth are powerful allies of the spiritual being. I often invite clients to explore contemplative walks or time outdoors between sessions.
I am at home with seekers of all backgrounds and beliefs. Rather than judging, I remain curious and open, trusting that every path is rooted in the same sacred ground of love and wisdom.
What People Often Say
Those I work with describe my listening as uncanny — a way of uncovering truth, wisdom, and power they didn’t know they could name. They often tell me they leave feeling connected, alive, and warmed with love.
What Nourishes Me
My own spiritual life is grounded in daily practice: breath, prayer, time in nature, and community. I listen to the trees, the ocean, and the wind as my sacred teachers. They remind me to be strong and rooted, fluid and cleansing, gentle and carrying.
Re-wilding the Sacred
I am currently drawn to the mystical traditions of the Abrahamic religions, exploring the deep well of sacred wisdom woven through them. I’ve been studying Aramaic translations of the Bible through the work of Neil Douglas-Klotz and delving into the teachings of Yeshua through the Wisdom Waypoints School of Cynthia Bourgeault. I’m also immersed in the Kabbalah, Tree of Life and Sacred Marriage teachings of Yeshua and Mary Magdalene through the Wisdom School of Megan Wagner with Stephen Pope.
My explorations have led me to the language of origin — Paleo-Hebrew — where I sit with the letters, sounds, and words of the psalms as living songs. My approach to sacred texts engages all the senses and elements: I sit, walk, listen, sing, dance, draw, and chant. I let the sacred wash over me, speak to me, and move through me.
I hear the songs of the sacred in the earth and in the ancient words — both reflecting the living relationship between earth, human, and divine. For me, to be fully present in this life is to be in full relationship with these three dimensions of existence.
Invitation
My hope is simple: that you reach out for connection and conversation. Whether we work together or not, I would love to know you. We are weavers of this beautiful world and the web of life. The path to healing, expansion, transformation, and flourishing is interdependent. We need each other. We don't heal or transcend alone. We do it collectively. My goal in every interaction is to support each other's connection to our sacred essence and the love that is always available to us.
I’d be honored to accompany you as you listen for the Divine in your own life.
