Restorative Practices for Communities
Restorative Dialogue
Exploring Restorative Questions and Language
Restorative Practices aim to repair relationships, foster accountability, and promote healing—but the effectiveness of this work depends on the language we use and the questions we ask. In these two videos, you’ll be introduced to the core questions that guide restorative dialogue and invited to reflect on the power of language to either open or close pathways to care, connection, and transformation.

Video 1: The Restorative Questions – Facilitating a Restorative Dialogue. This video introduces the core restorative questions used to facilitate structured conversations. You'll learn how to guide dialogue that supports understanding, accountability, and repair.

Video 2: Considering the Word “Harm” in the Restorative Questions – Reframing Language to Foster Care, Connection, and Accountability. This video explores how the word “harm,” while important, can sometimes limit openness in dialogue. You'll be invited to consider alternative language that centers care and connection while strengthening accountability.
Before we gather in person, take time to watch both videos. Grab a notebook, jot down what stands out to you, what questions arise, and anything that sparks curiosity or challenge. Bring those reflections with you to our in-person training—where we’ll explore these ideas more deeply, practice together, and play with new ways of holding restorative conversations.
